Update 8.00 has got several features for PlayStation users, including the party chat system.

It’s mandatory to change to accept and allow voice chats record to be a part of the party chat system.

One user shared on Twitter a screenshot of a notification that showed the message-

‘Voice chats may be recorded for moderation. By joining, you agree to being recorded’,

He tweeted “So anyone gonna acknowledge this???? The party system is soo messed up too. The invite menu is awful and the group messages in the party are just useless.”

Another user said –

“We want PlayStation Network to be fun for everyone, which is why we have a Community Code of Conduct.

“Please be aware that voice chats in parties may be recorded and sent to us by other users. By participating in voice chats, you agree to your voice being recorded.

“When behaviours that violate the Community Code of Conduct are reported, PlayStation Safety will review the reports to check if there have been genuine violations.

“These recordings will only be used for safety and moderation purposes by PlayStation Safety.”

The third one mentioned, “I don’t like the idea of being recorded while just trying to relax with friends after work. Makes me paranoid. Lol. Being recorded or whatnot. Hope that’s reversed and fixed.”

While someone joked, “Whelp me and the homies are getting banned quick.”

However, Sony has not mentioned anything about it. The current Privacy Policy of Sony which is listed online, mentions-

“We cannot monitor the whole of PlayStation Network and make no commitment to do so.

“However, we reserve the right in our sole discretion to monitor (including through the use of technology that automatically detects images, text, and URLs that breach our Terms of Service) and record your online activity and communication throughout PlayStation Network and to remove and/or delete any content”

“We may use the information we collect (as described above) to detect breaches and enforce our PlayStation Network Terms of Service, Software Usage Terms, System Software License Agreements, any other terms of service you have agreed to and any rules or codes of conduct applicable to your use of PlayStation Network.”
