Sony Interactive Entertainment reveals that in the first 12 hours, PS5 has sold more than the number PS4 did in the first 12 weeks. Isn’t that crazy?
Last month PS5 pre-orders was live and it was nearly impossible to get hands-on as everyone was trying to grab one.
The massive pre-orders of PS5 shows impressive growth.
According to Jim Ryan, PlayStation owner, “very considerable” demand for the next-gen machine is there, even though there lie the worldwide economic problems, a pandemic, and a lack of marketing.
“The demand as expressed by the level of pre-order has been has been very, very considerable,” says Ryan to Reuters.
Ryan also goes out to say that “It may well be that not everybody who wants to buy a PS5 on launch day will be able to find one,”
Until around the end of November, it is uncertain whether PS5’s main competitor-the Xbox Series X, how well it’s performing in the pre-order market compared to the new PlayStation.
Previously, the PS4 took off quite fast, leaving behind the Xbox One. Seems like the PS5 is prepared to make a similar move unless Microsoft is bringing in drastic improvement in the pre-orders from Xbox One to Series X.
On November 12, the PS5 is set to release, the price ranges from $400 and $500, depending on what version one wants.
