Nate Diaz responds to Conor McGregor demanding UFC title fight

Despite facing knock out in the second round at UFC 257, McGregor is ready to fight against Dustin Poirier for the third time in the month of May.

Meanwhile, Nate Diaz mocks Conor McGregor for the demand on the same.

Last weekend in his first fight after a span of more than 12 months, Poirier stopped McGregor in the second round itself.

Even after facing major defeat in three fights, in May the Irishman still wishes to gear up for a trilogy fight.

In the year 2016, Nate Diaz who fought McGregor twice, dismisses the idea, saying,

“You and DP just got choked on your face the other day by a guy that ran off and didn’t want none especially with me, how you going to fight for a title?

“I been here 14 years and no one can do me like that ever in life.”

He referred to Khabib Nurmagomedov who defected both McGregor and Poirier to win the 155lb belt.

Poirier on the other hand has not dismissed the idea of fighting McGregor yet again.

As told to ESPN by McGregor’s coach, “He’s already harassing everybody to get the rematch; he’d love the rematch and I don’t think Dustin is against that.

“If we can get that before the summer that would be amazing; if it’s not then maybe he drifts off into boxing.

“We’re one and one, we gave him the rematch and I hope he returns the sentiment

He adds, “If the fight had gone our way it would have been nice to look at Nate Diaz for the belt but this is the one that lights the fire in him.

“I was looking for him on the yacht and he was in the gym doing an hour-long tough weights workout; that shows you where he is in the head.

“That’s the big drive, that’s the story, it’s one apiece. They’re right up there in the rankings, they’re popular fighters and its a beautiful match-up.

He continues, “Dustin is riding high with confidence, I’m sure his confidence is super-high. We need to fix that technique with the leg and another couple of things as well, but Dustin vs Conor III for the belt in May would be amazing.”
