Since the release of The Last of US Part II has released it has faced several ups and downs. Recently Laura Bailey, a prolific voice actor has received death threats online. Actor Laura Bailey sharted a screenshot saying, “I’m going to find where you live and slaughter you.”
Two months ago, before the release of the game, major plot details and some cinematic clips were leaked. The leak came in the form of a video which was taken down from YouTube due to copyright claims. Now, the latest harassment of Laura has been condemned by Naughty Dog, the development studio behind The Last of US Part II.
Bailey gave a positive and witty reply to the message, saying, “Man. I try to only post positive stuff on here… but sometimes this just gets a little overwhelming. I blacked out some of the words cuz, ya know, spoilers. Side note. Thank you to all the people sending me positive messages to balance it out. It means more than I can say.”
“Although we welcome critical discussion, we condemn any form of harassment or threats directed towards our team and cast,” posted Naughty Dog online.
“Their safety is our top priority, but we must all work together to root out this type of behaviour and maintain a constructive and compassionate discourse,” it added.
The game’s creative director Neil Druckmann also shared some of the hatred he has been receiving. A person described him as “radical feminist scum”.
