After the swearing-in ceremony, President Joe Biden got no time to ‘settle down in the White House, instead, he is busy signing executive orders and taking over the role at a speed.
Amidst all these political journalists have spotted that former president Donald Trump’s ‘Diet Coke button’ is no more at the desk, which now belongs to Biden.
As attested by many senior political journalists that previously on Trump’s Oval Office desk a small box with a little red button on it was present.
The purpose of the button was that when Trump used to press it, a member of the working staff presented him with his favourite fizzy drink.
In 2017, the box was revealed by Associated Press journalist Julie Pace where she mentioned, “Midway through my interview with President Donald Trump, he reached over and pressed a red button on his desk in the Oval Office.
“It didn’t trigger a nuclear launch or send advisers scurrying into the room.
“Instead, a White House butler walked in with a single glass of Diet Coke on a silver tray for the commander in chief.”
Tom Newton Dunn of Times Radio, who was the first one to state it on his Twitter post that currently the button is not present on the desk
His tweet read, “President Biden has removed the Diet Coke button.
“When @ShippersUnbound and I interviewed Donald Trump in 2019, we became fascinated by what the little red button did.
“Eventually, Trump pressed it, and a butler swiftly brought in a Diet Coke on a silver platter. It’s gone now.”
Reportedly, Donald Trump, used to consume 12 glasses of Diet Coke in a day; when Financial Times reporter questioned him about the red button in a 2018 interview, whether it unleashed a weapon.
Trump quickly replied to the journalist telling him “No no, everyone thinks it.
“Everyone does get a little nervous when I press that button.”
It seems Biden isn’t keen to keep the button or maybe doesn’t like diet coke, who knows!
