Last month to defend his mother, a 5-year-old Indiana boy tried fighting back against several armed home invaders reports the police.
A Home security footage dated September 30 shows a woman and her son being attacked by four males in hoodies as they break through the door. Three of them were armed and pointed their weapons at them.
At around 10:30 am Tamika Reid was ironing clothes and her son David was playing with a toy.
As told to WSBT-TV, “What you seeing was me ironing our clothes, getting our clothes, ready to start our day,”
“You would hear me saying, “what is that!’”, said Reid
In the footage, Reid is seen standing up to the noise made by the intruders to draw their guns. She was forced by the gunman forced her, while her son David appears to start hurling them at one of the intruders.
David further goes out to grab the arm of the gunman near him, but he didn’t harm the boy.
In a Facebook post, South Bend police made the video public and states that-
“You can see a little boy hitting one of the armed suspects as he tries to defend his home,”
“It is our job now to defend him.”
Reid mentions about her son’s extraordinary efforts-
“I’m just, my whole thing was my hero right here. He was trying to hit the guys,”
“My thing was I need to get him out of the house before they do something to my son.”
It was reported that the gunmen didn’t take anything and no one was injured.
